Mac Posers and PC fanboys
Its time for a new blog post and what are we gonna talk about? I’ll tell you what were gonna talk about. PC fanboys on Youtube. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a major fanboy of Apple myself, I go to great lengths to show the weakness of Microsoft and the power of Apple. As a matter of fact, I’m more than likely the most hated of all mac fanboys on Youtube. But it seems there is a distinct difference between Mac and Pc fanboys. I have never met a mac user that is ashamed of admitting he’s a fanboy, if he is one. Not all Mac users are fanboys, but the ones who are have no trouble admitting it. This don’t seem true for the PC side of things. Every PC user/fanboy i meet on Youtube is just ranting that I suck and PC is better. They cuss and fight just as hard as I do yet they refuse to admit there fanboyism. This hankers back to a point. Deep down inside most pc users are ashamed of there OS. even if they don’t admit it. Deep down they all want macs and I can tell this by the lack of pride associated with Vista and PC fanboys. They think, for some reason, that they are innocent. I never get any real reasons why tey stay with windows besides games. And games isnt a reason to do anything if you ask me. They are forced to revert back to XP, an OS that is older than my daughter. Yet they still clamor to buy a pc. This failure on Microsoft’s behalf, a little thing called Vista, does nothing to persuade them away from Microsoft. Now that my friend, is loyalty. At least we Apple fanboys have something really worth being pround of. And we show it. PC fans on the other hand, don’t. they will fight till the day they die claiming tey are not fanboys. But what else can you call it when you stick to a platform that everyone in the world agrees sucks. And another thing that gets my goat is a mac user who bashers other mac users for being proud of there computer. Several times a mac users has emailed me only to tell me I’m dumb, a liar, or an idiot. So why do they do this? Why do they sit at home a work on there shinny new iMac or Macbook Pro and then hate on me for bashing windows. My question for all those Mac posers is this, if I’m so wrong, why didn’t you buy a winpc?

Do you even read your own post, go back through it, and see how many stupid things you just said… this time use your brain while reading through it. You know why us apple users don’t like apple fanboys, because your arguments are all so stupid and writting like a 5th grader.

Its a load of crap really.
No matter what you use. Prettymuch anything has its good sides and bad sides.
I choose Windows because a: it came with my pc so i paid for it. and b: i am an occasional gamer.
Now if you game, having something other then Windows is not really an option. Sure there is VMWare Fusion for the mac, and several game porting clubs for Linux. But nothin beats the PC on gaming.
So basicly if you are a gamer, Windows rules and everything else sucks. If you like everything as cheap as possible and you dont nessicairly game. You are probally better of with Linux.
And if you dont game but just want your shit to work you should probally chose Mac. (although, that “it just works” apple quote is discussable because apple computers can die just as much as any other piece of electronics.)
The point of it being that its completely pointless to even discuss the subject, regardless of the side you pick.
First of all, i really dont think anybody cares what you use. (and they shouldn’t) And second of all, YOU need to be happy with what you use, not your neigbour, grandma, or geek on the other side of a flamewar.

(Hey good post but you need to learn how to separate paragraphs, it will take you far. Right now the post is hard to read and just seems too cluttered.
You now have my email and web address so feel free to contact me if you need any more advice or anything on those lines.)
Now on topic I am now a huge Apple Fanboy. I was a Windows user for life and about a year and a half ago I bought my “starter” Mac, a G4 iMac for $300 off of Ebay. The day after I bought Vista for my laptop. I received Vista first, it was shipped in state.
It took an entire Saturday to install the OS on my 4 month old Dell laptop, and entire Sunday to reinstall it so that there was no issues, I never had this problem with XP and Windows 2000. I had three full days to use it before the iMac came in and got used to the new features. I thought, and still think, that Vista is not a bad OS, sure there are some flaws here and there but overall it worked pretty well, after a slew of updates.
As I said the iMac came in a few days later. I couldn’t wait to press the power button and get started. It took a while to get used to the OS and to use the command key not control to right click and so forth. After playing around with the OS, 10.4 Tiger, I found that it did everything Vista does but better. This 5 year old computer worked faster and better than the new Vista laptop, I was and am still shocked at this. Anyways after a few weeks I only used the old iMac and grew such a fan of it that I sold it, my laptop, and used my credit card to buy a new Macbook.
I have been on Leopard ever since and I never want to go back to Windows, for the forceable future that is. I am now an Apple “fanboy” and with good cause. My laptop is fast and secure and is great to carry around on campus, my iPod Touch holds all of my school information(class schedule).
So yes I am an Apple fanboy and yes I understand why you would bash Microsoft products for their lack of quality. But for me I prefer just keeping my mouth shout and enjoying using my OS and my great piece of hardware that they call the Macbook.
Keep up the great work on the videos and I hope you keep this blog updated regularly.

PC’s have better hardware for a cheaper price, hands down that should be the deciding factor for you. You pay double the price for a mac with half the hardware, so you can have an OS that’s more convenient for you to use? Sounds to me like apple is pulling your chain. The extra thousand dollars isn’t worth looking cool or hip either.

Jesus dude.. you are pretty pathetic to rant about this on every website that will allow you register. Dude.. we get it. You hate the PC.. you have Windows.. you love Apple. You’d eat the corn out of Steve Jobs’ poop. WE GET IT. You consider yourself a professional and want people to buy your training materials. Then act like a professional. Let people use what they want to use and shut the hell up about it. An artist with the same medicore talent as you can make the same peices as you regardless of their platform. You claim to love Houdini. As you know, it’s cross-platform. A capable artist running Houdini on a Mac, Vista box or Linux box can make the SAME thing. Oh shit.. I know.. that must blow your mind. And yes, we run OSX, XP/Vista, and Linux at our studio. We don’t differentiate between the three because they’re no reason to. So what’s the point? The point it.. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT PLATFORM YOU USE. At the end of the day, it’s just hardware. Big fucking deal. A peice of hardware that at the end of the day you SHOULD be walking away from and hanging out with your family and friends. Quit taking this shit so seriously. It makes you look idoitic, narcissistic, and unprofessional.

I’ve watched your videos for a while now and I have to say you make some very valid points in your videos. Now I have to admit I don’t own a Mac, but I use one for work regularly and my main computer is a Linux PC running Fedora 10 but I’m not a PC fanboy, a few people have it in their heads that PC = Windows, which is simply not the case.
Games? Well I’m a console gamer so that’s irrelevant and even for the two PC games I do own, Crossover for Linux runs these and more games perfectly.

Why would you be proud of something someone else designed and produced? That’s like being proud of a movie star for winning an Oscar. Being proud to own a Chevy. Being proud to be white. It makes even less sense than being proud of your country, because you contributed about 1/300,000,000th of the United States’ culture and success, and ranting about how shitty Microsoft is doesn’t really help Apple. Nextstep was probably around before you were even born.
If you are way into unix-based “lifestyle products” or whatever the hell, just build a 400 dollar PC and run Ubuntu on it, it will outperform any imac/macmini in existence.
